GateWire Inc. ("we", "our", or "us") operates a decentralized SMS infrastructure connecting businesses ("Clients") with a network of Android node providers ("Node Providers"). We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of all users within our ecosystem.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our API, website, or Android application.
2. Data We Collect
We collect distinct sets of data depending on your role in the GateWire ecosystem:
For API Clients
- Business Name & Tax ID
- Contact Information (Email, Phone)
- Payment Information (Processed via Secure Gateways)
- API Usage Logs & IP Addresses
For Node Providers
- Device Identifiers (UUID, Model)
- Network Status (Signal Strength, Carrier)
- Battery Level & Charging Status
- Transmission Logs: Status of SMS sent via GateWire
3. SMS & Mesh Network Security
As a decentralized network, the security of message content is our highest priority. We adhere to strict data minimization principles regarding SMS permissions on Android devices.
3.1. No Access to Personal Messages
We do not read, access, or store your personal SMS messages. The GateWire Android App is architected to only interact with SMS messages initiated by the GateWire system itself. We utilize a unique identifier hash to verify delivery without reading the content of your personal inbox.
3.2. Encryption in Transit
All communication between API Clients, the GateWire Cloud, and Node Devices occurs over TLS 1.3 encrypted channels. Message content is encrypted until the moment of dispatch by the local carrier.
4. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law.
- Transaction Logs: Retained for 30 days to facilitate debugging, delivery reports, and billing dispute resolution. After 30 days, logs are permanently anonymized or deleted.
- Account Data: Retained for the lifetime of your account. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time via the dashboard settings.
5. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party providers for hosting (e.g., AWS/DigitalOcean) and payment processing. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or protect the rights of GateWire Inc.
